The Nomination for Arithmetic Properties of Fractal Estimates by Tommy Löfstedt

The thesis presents fundamental work within image analysis and based on the results the entire field of fractal image analysis is advanced. In his thesis Tommy show, theoretically and empirically, how fractal properties of multifractal sets are affected by arithmetic operations such as projections, intersections etc. These results are directly applicable in understanding for instance x-ray imaging used in medical image analysis. It was, however, outside the scope of Tommy's thesis project to make these practical implementations.
